What’s theMAT class? Classical mat pilates set to a chill instrumental playlist. In 45 minutes, this class improves your flexibility and strength through slow, controlled movements as originally created by Joseph Pilates.

Consistent with Joseph Pilates philosophy, each class follows the same order of exercises. More advanced movements and transitions are occasionally incorporated, with modifications always provided as options. No props or weights are used, and each exercise is only as challenging as you’d like it to be; if you want a challenge, you can have it as cued throughout each class. If you need a recovery day, theMAT allows for that, as well.

theMAT also starts and stays on the floor, making it a great workout if you’re feeling a little tired or stressed and just need to lie down and close your eyes. Your body will thank you for showing up, since there’s an emphasis on breathwork and core strength. And your mind will completely clear as you focus on refining each and every movement.
